THOP DIGITAL
LIBRARY

What is thop digital library?

We all are  familiar with the word “Thop“.  It usually represents a uniqueness and ultimatum in anything. It is a boost up word for youth. Here we are introducing you to a new world of self learning with our own “Thop Digital Library“. Your one go destination for all the important sources of Chemical, Food and Textile of all the 4 years of U.G.  This source  is a collection of all important academic concepts that resembles a library in a digital form.  Since this is  dynamic and unique, we made the name self- explanatory!!

We guarantee that this source will provide  value to you and help you in learning better.

A word from us....

Want to make your knowledgeable Career Effective? Then, self-learning is the best way. It develops a breadth of knowledge for yourself. One of the best ways to absorb a piece of information in your mind is to read about it on your own with full focus.Literally,  Self Learning is a process by which individuals take the initiative, in diagnosing their learning needs, formulating learning goals, identifying the material resources, and evaluating learning outcomes. If you want a thing done well, do it yourself!

Many of us are worried and also wasted our valuable time in searching for best resources to learn and in the process, we get distracted. In that way, we are dropping our energy levels and interest. And sometimes we may put an end to it. We will always be thinking about self-learning but we don’t take a step forward. Reasons might be infinity.
Since we have so much information out there like never before, we are going through a massive shift in how we learn and get a skill. We are learning most of the time outside the class with different platforms, while we are investing time in reading content just like now.
Where there are gaps in knowledge, fear fills the void and causes procrastination and ignorance. Probably many self-learners like you must have faced this kind of problems. Now relax!
From now, we have no worries. Students from UCT had created a Thop Digital Library which provides the best sources to learn core subjects and concepts from all the departments (Chemical, Food, Textile) for all the 4 year U.G students.

So, Why is self-learning?

Once we start taking ownership of learning and experience success, we will develop invaluable confidence and self-motivation.  Becoming independent and gaining the ability to progress without relying on a teacher entirely and solving problems by yourself is not only more rewarding but also helps in solidifying your learning. You, as a Student can take control of your learning and engage with the topic deeply which will make you more interested and also increases your self-esteem.

Where Focus Goes….. Energy Flows….
You can have brilliant ideas, but if you can’t get them across, your ideas won’t get you anywhere. Never stop learning because life will never stop teaching.” When you have an exact goal, you can drive all your actions in one direction. The ability to focus can create or break your success in life. Energy flows where attention goes! To get what you want in life, you need a clear goal that has purpose and meaning behind it.

Switch your mind.
Everything begins with an idea.
HAPPY LEARNING!!!

Food technology is a branch of food science that majorly deals with the manufacturing, processing, preserving and packaging, labeling, quality check and Marketing, distribution of food,  and its articles. There is a large scope for job opportunities such as Food safety inspectors, Production Managers, Food Development Manager, Food Packaging Manager, Food Safety Auditors, etc. The B.Tech Food Technology Course and subjects are designed to provide an adequate amount of basic knowledge on Nutrition, Chemical balance of Food, Microbiology, Preservation, Food infestation management, Heat, and Mass transfer applications in food, Beverages, Cereals, Fruits, and Vegetable processing, Animal-based foods, Baking Science, Unit operations in foods, Fluids, Food waste management, etc.

The applications of chemical engineering are ubiquitous. The concepts of chemical engineering applications from the simplest of things to the most complicated and intricate mechanisms observed in nature. It is a harmonious blend of mathematics, physics, chemistry, programming, biology, and mechanics. The answers to many crucial questions can be obtained from the fascinating and multifaceted discipline of chemical engineering. Be curious and learn at each step.

Textile Engineering is the study of textile production, processing and it’s compatibility for the use of common man. It combines the principles of engineering with specific knowledge of textile equipment and processes. Textiles are utilized for innumerable purposes other than the manufacturing of garments. There are ample career opportunities in this field for talented professionals.  The industrial knowledge and skills of graduates are highly valued by textile manufacturing companies. There is wide scope for research in this area as the industry demands the need to improve currently available products and develop new ones.

Our Journey

How What and Why?

We are a team of 7(Vinay, Surya, Lidvija, Tejasri, Shivani, Triveni, Nikhil) and this task of source collection is done in just a week. It was the idea of our mentor and many students. In the initial time when we started this, we just felt like is it possible and the one- week deadline was horrible. We are going to introduce new technology for all but it needs a good promotion to reach out to all the students and make the most of it.

The world is looking for digital technology in this situation. Digital technologies have advanced more rapidly than any innovation in our history. As part of this, self-Learning had to be implemented many days before as a trend in the educational system. Many of the students want to find all the resources in one place rather than wasting time in searching.

So, we came up with this idea to avoid all these circumstances and save your time.

There is no project existed. As the time came we took it as a challenge so that we could help others to avoid difficulties that we faced before. Just a thought with a lot of discussions (team interaction) made it happened. Maybe it is difficult but it is not impossible, teamwork can make it happen.

We can also say that this journey applies to PARKINSON’S LAW. It is the adage that “work expands to fill the time available for its completion”- means that if you give yourself a week to complete a two-hour task, then the task will increase in complexity and become more daunting to fill that week. It may not even fill the extra time with more work, but just stress and tension about having to get it done. By assigning the right amount of time to a task, we gain back more time and the task will reduce complexity to its natural state.

So, we also did the same thing here, it is not so hard to do the things in less period it all depends upon our mindsets.

Looking through many journeys, only a few people took the initiative and did the work and that work made all others to believe and see the whole picture of the thing which we create.

Here, the idea is generated on Aug 25th, 2020 and we fixed to complete it in a week. We made a Google spreadsheet and added all the sources by contacting our friends from different branches, this made our task easier.

We can update this spreadsheet with the best source at any time.

The major thing is we can learn in our ways from the sources we find.

+Most of the students we do is criticizing the teacher that they are not enough, here we are building up the negative energy rather than that we should help the teachers to become the better versions of themselves. We need to discuss and interact with them to do better. we believe this is a symbolic approach that students and teachers need.

+ We often feel boring to read them from textbooks, so people find videos as alternatives but the best way to gain the ultimate knowledge of the subject is to refer the textbooks.

We have a lot of free time in First&Second year of graduation. So, we usually learn confined subjects but with the help of these spreadsheets, you can get an overview of all the subjects within the first year itself.

Whenever we know what concepts you are going to deal with in the future, we will be equipped with it and handle it in a better way.
